Danny Perng is the Managing Director of Mentor Graphics in the PacRim (Asia Pacific) region and Corporate Vice President since August of 2009.
Danny started at Mentor Graphics as a SW engineer in the IC Division in Oregon in 1998. After five years, he became the R&D team leader, representing the IC Division on the Corporate Architect Council. He participated in the planning meetings of Mentor's future software development and infrastructure.
Danny returned to Taiwan in 1996 as the PacRim Technical Marketing Manager for IC design automation tools and IP products. In July of 1998, he became the Foundry Program Manager, leading the Foundry Team in Taiwan to establish Calibre's Golden Sign-off status for TSMC, UMC, Chartered, and Samsung. Two years later, Danny became the PacRim Marketing Director.
In January of 2002, Danny took on the China General Manager position, where he set-up a direct channel operation, opening offices in Shanghai, Beijing and ShenZhen and built a team of ~100 employees from ground up. Now China contributes more than $100M in annual revenue to Mentor Graphics.
Prior to joining Mentor Graphics, Danny was a software & system integration project leader in Electronics Display System, Grand Island, Nebraska.
Danny has a MBA Degree from the Marylhurst University in Oregon, a Master’s Degree of Computer Science and a Master’s Degree of Chemical Engineering from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln. Danny has a BS Degree in Chemical Engineering from the National Tsinghua University in Hsinchu, Taiwan.
