•Surésh is a senior vice president and business field head of Thin Film Solutions and is based in Taiwan. He joined Merck as a part of the acquisition of Versum Materials in October 2019 and has global  responsibility for driving the strategy and growth of the company’s thin film solutions business, a newly created business field which was formed by combining the organosilanes, organometallics and spin-on-dielectrics technology platforms of legacy Merck and legacy Versum Materials and is focused on driving innovation and collaboration with our key customers and OEM partners globally.

•Prior to his current position at Merck, he was appointed Vice President of Advanced Deposition Materials business of Versum Materials/Air Products and was based in Carlsbad, CA. 

•Surésh joined Air Products in 2008 and led the corporate new business development team in the office of CTO – driving new market entry, external  technology/manufacturing partnerships and technology driven M&A.

•Prior to joining Air Products, Surésh worked for 10 years in General Electric Corporation in their Advanced Materials and Specialty Materials business in various R&D roles starting with plant process development, growing into new product development and global technology director roles.  He also earned a DMAIC and DFSS black belt while at GE.

•Surésh received a Ph.D. degree in Polymer Chemistry from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute located in upstate New York, USA and a Masters degree in Polymers from University of Madras, India. Surésh has authored/coauthored 17 journal publications, 2 book chapters, and is named as inventor/coinventor on more than 25 patents.
