Dr. Nasreen Chopra

Nasreen Chopra, VP Sustainability Systems Engineering, is responsible for the Sustainability Center of Excellence (COE) at Applied Materials. Her focus is to work with internal and external partners, as well as industry consortia and customers to accelerate the development and deployment of products that reduce energy consumption and emissions of semiconductor fabs. She brings more than 25 years of deep technical and business experience working in diverse set of leadership roles, R&D, manufacturing, supply chain, strategic deals. Ms. Chopra started her career at Applied Materials as a process engineer, working on Low K. She went on to be founder and CEO of a venture backed nanotechnology startup commercializing carbon nanotube growth. Subsequently, she spent 10 years in the solar industry, including leadership roles at SunPower and Alta Devices. Prior to her return to Applied Materials in 2020, Ms. Chopra spent six years at Apple where she worked in supply chain, operations and Apple Pay. She has a BS in Engineering Physics and MA, PhD in Physics from the University of California at Berkeley where she currently serves on the Advisory Board of the College of Letters & Science.
