The Southern Taiwan Science Park(STSP) Bureau of the National Science and Technology Council oversees science parks in Tainan, Kaohsiung (including Luzhu, Nanzih, and Ciaotou), Pingtung and Chiayi, with a total development area of over 2,100 hectares. It serves as a key hub in the nation’s Semiconductor S Corridor.
STSP focuses on six major industries, including integrated circuits(IC), optoelectronics, precision machinery, biotechnology, telecommunications, computers peripherals and other industries. Efforts are ongoing to foster industrial clustering and upstream-downstream integration, aiming to build a forward-looking high-tech industrial base.
STSP boasts a comprehensive semiconductor industry cluster, covering critical sectors such as advanced processes, advanced packaging, materials and equipment, and smart manufacturing. By integrating AI technology, ESG practices, and academia-industry-research collaboration platforms, STSP enhances innovation and drives industrial transformation.
STSP also emphasizes sustainable governance, promoting water resource recycling, carbon emission management, and the development of smart infrastructure. It preserves green spaces and promotes ecological coexistence, balancing technological advancement with environmental friendliness, and demonstrating tangible achievements in building a sustainable science park.
