Enabling Data Center Hyper Connectivity in the AI Era

Massive deployments of AI capable data centers have pushed optical interconnect data rates to multiple Tbit/s with a premium on energy consumption. With a million XPU’s being interconnected, there is a need for a hierarchy of interconnects spanning both data rates and distances. In this talk we explore how silicon photonics and heterogeneous integration technology enables the scale-up, scale-out and scale-across interconnects of these deployments.

Dr. Radha Nagarajan

Dr. Radha Nagarajan

Senior Vice President & Chief Technology Officer, Marvell Technology, Inc.

Dr. Nagarajan is currently the Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer of Marvell’s Optical Engineering Group. At Marvell, he manages the development of the company’s optical platform products and technology.

He has been elected to the National Academy of Engineering (US). His other recognitions include the IEEE/LEOS Aron Kressel Award, the IPRM Award and the OPTICA David Richardson Medal for breakthrough work in the development and manufacturing of photonic integrated circuits.

Dr. Nagarajan has been awarded more than 250 US patents. He is a Fellow of the IEEE, OPTICA (Optical Society), and IET. He received his B.Eng. from the National University of Singapore, M.Eng. from the University of Tokyo, and Ph.D. from the University of California, Santa Barbara, all in Electrical Engineering.
