Breaking through the data rate barrier

上午 11:05 - 上午 11:30

As the industry is breaking through the 200 Gbps/lane data rate for data center pluggable transceivers and migrating to 400 Gbps/lane, various challenges are seen in both the electrical and optical domain. Rather diverse solutions are being proposed and developed on a feverish pace. In the meantime NPO/CPO for both scale-up and scale-out are facing similar challenges but are subject to different sets of considerations, given the context under which these systems are required to operate. In this presentation we shall examine the recent trends in overcoming the data rate challenges for both pluggable transceiver and CPO, with an analysis into the pros and cons of each approach.

Key Technologies Covered

  • The challenges from higher data rates
  • Modulator selection
  • Coherent technology comes to rescue?
  • WDM vs single wavelength
