Dr. Chien-Yung Ma

Dr. Chien-Yung Ma studied material science & metallurgy at the University of Stuttgart in Germany and received his Ph.D. degree in 1993. After his return to Taiwan, Dr. Ma served in Chung-shan Institute of Science and Technology, Armaments Bureau until 2000. Later, Dr. Ma joined the WALSIN LIHWA group and was in charge of the Micro-Electro-Mechanical System (MEMS) business unit. Since Nov. 2007, he had served in Solar Applied Materials Technology Corporation (SAMT) as the President, being responsible for global operation. In 2016, he became the Chairman of SAMT, leading the Group toward high end semiconductor for tsmc and related companies worldwide. Dr. Ma devoted in alloy design and microstructure control applied for front end semiconductor applications, as well as circular economy in terms of recycle & refining , typically in E-waste. Since Sep. 2022, He becomes the Chairman of Openness Specialty Materials Corp. Ltd, dedicating in materials for high end semiconductor. ​
